Common questions, straight answers.
What does the free tier include?
20 free credits on signup — run your first Site Screen free, or use the credits toward a full Wind, Solar or Hybrid study. PDF export is included. Email magic link, any domain, no card required. Top up for additional screens or full studies.
How does the credit model work?
Each tool run consumes a fixed number of credits — Site Screener is 20 credits, full Wind/Solar study is 16 credits, Hybrid is 16 credits. Credits cost €5 each, never expire, and there are no subscriptions or monthly minimums. A wallet of €50+ unlocks cross-run comparison; €100+ unlocks Excel export.
How reliable are the outputs?
Output quality is a direct function of input quality. The platform is designed for the rigorous first pass — to decide whether a site is worth €50k+ on a professional feasibility study. Regional defaults give a credible indicative range; project-specific inputs yield a firm, traceable result. These are screening outputs, not investment-grade financial models — built on IRENA, Lazard and BNEF benchmark data, with every assumption explicit.
What currency do you use?
Pricing is in EUR. LCOE, CAPEX and OPEX benchmarks remain in USD per IRENA, Lazard and BNEF industry convention — but all platform pricing and invoicing is in EUR.
What is the difference between Project IRR and equity IRR?
Project IRR measures the return on total project capital before debt service — a standard metric for technology and cost comparison. Equity IRR requires debt sizing, sculpted repayment schedules, reserve accounts and tax treatment. We compute Project IRR and are explicit about this on every output.
Where does the benchmark data come from?
Country benchmarks are derived from IRENA Renewable Power Generation Costs, Lazard LCOE+ and BNEF — updated annually. Wind resource is from DTU Global Wind Atlas; solar irradiance from PVGIS-SARAH3. Each data point is cited with source, publication year and methodology reference. Updates are versioned in the public model changelog — there are no silent revisions.
Can outputs be included in client deliverables?
Yes. PDF export is included with every paid run (and the free study) and carries a permanent disclaimer plus full input log so recipients can verify every assumption. Excel export is available for users with €100+ in their wallet.
Is my project data private?
Yes. Your projects are stored in a Supabase database with Row Level Security — meaning only you can access your own data. Not even our team can view your site inputs or results. We don't aggregate your projects into benchmarks, we don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone. We're a small team and we built this because we think developers deserve a straightforward tool that respects their work. See our
privacy policy for full details.
What does a full prefeasibility study include?
Six structured steps: site selection, resource assessment, power & energy (AEP — P50/P75/P90), financial analysis (LCOE, IRR, NPV), a site access study (grid and road proximity from OpenStreetMap), and an environmental screening report (protected areas and habitat constraints at staged radii). Each step feeds the next; the complete study is exportable as a PDF.
What's the difference between the Site Screener and a full Prefeasibility Study?
The Site Screener gives you a 30-second 8-axis verdict — resource, grid, land, environmental, market, sponsor, social, logistics. It returns KILL, CAUTION or PASS for each axis. A full prefeasibility study is a deeper six-step analysis with detailed financial modelling (LCOE, IRR, NPV), P50/P75/P90 energy yield, and structured PDF export. Start with the screener; if the site passes, upgrade to a full study from the same wallet.
Do you provide consultancy?
No. preFeasibility operates at the pre-consultancy stage. It is designed for developers and analysts who need structured, data-backed screening and indicative modelling before committing to professional feasibility consultants. The outputs are decision-grade for screening — not a substitute for investment-grade engineering or financial advisory.
Is this AI powered?
No — and that's intentional. Every output is derived from established engineering and finance formulas applied to real-world data: NASA MERRA-2 wind climatology, PVGIS-SARAH3 satellite irradiance, ENTSO-E capture rates, and IRENA / Lazard / BNEF benchmark datasets.
Wind yield follows Weibull-based AEP modelling. Financial metrics — LCOE, IRR, NPV — use standard discounted cash flow methodology. Site screening scores each axis against published thresholds and country-cohort benchmarks. Every input is explicit. Every formula is auditable.
We don't use AI because pre-feasibility outputs need to be defensible. When a site reaches your desk — or a lender's — "the model said so" is not an answer. A deterministic formula with known inputs and traceable logic is.
Do unused credits expire?
No. Credits never expire. Top up once and use them across multiple projects and tools over any timeframe. There are no monthly minimums, no subscription commitments and no penalties for inactivity.
What happens if the site fails the screen?
A KILL verdict on any axis is a signal, not a final ruling. It means the data available at screening resolution — resource climatology, grid proximity, protected area boundaries — points to a structural concern worth investigating before spending further. Some KILLs turn into viable projects with better site-specific data. Others confirm what the screen suggested. Either way, you've spent 30 seconds and 20 credits rather than weeks and €50k finding out.
