Privacy Policy

Your project data
stays yours. Full stop.

Last updated: January 2026  ·  Effective: January 2026
The short version — and we mean it

"We just want to test your assumptions, not your confidence in us."

preFeasibility exists for one thing: pre-feasibility. We are not in the data business. We have no interest in what sites you're evaluating, which markets you're screening, or what numbers you're working with. That is genuinely not our domain — and we'd rather be exceptional at the one thing we do than distracted by something we don't.

The inputs you put in — site locations, CAPEX assumptions, WACC, capacity factors, project parameters — are yours, and only yours. We do not read them, share them, sell them, aggregate them, or use them to train anything. We have no interest in your project data. None.

We understand that for many of our users, the sites and numbers they're entering represent commercially sensitive, pre-public investment decisions. We built this policy — and the systems behind it — with that reality in mind.

Who we are

preFeasibility is built by a practitioner working in renewable energy development — the same industry this tool serves. We treat your data with the exact same strict confidentiality we require for our own project pipelines. For any questions about this policy, write to us at privacy@prefeasibility.com

What we collect — and why

We collect the minimum information needed to operate the platform. Nothing more.

Your email address. Used to create your account, send you a magic login link, and communicate credits and billing. That's all it's used for. We do not send marketing email unless you explicitly opt in.
Payment information. Processed entirely by our payment provider (Stripe). We never see or store your card number. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.
Credit balance and run history. We store a log of how many credits you have and which tools you've run — so your wallet works correctly and you can see your own history. This data is visible only to you.
Basic usage data. Standard server logs — which pages were loaded, response times, error events. Used only for keeping the platform running reliably. Not linked to your identity in any analysis.
What we never do with your data

We want to be specific here, because this is where most privacy policies get vague. Here is an explicit list.

Never. Not now, not later.
We do not sell your personal data to any third party, under any circumstances.
We do not share your project inputs — site locations, financial assumptions, capacity parameters — with anyone. Not partners, not investors, not other users, not us.
We do not aggregate your project data with other users' data to build market intelligence, benchmarks, or research datasets.
We do not use your inputs to train machine learning models or improve AI systems.
We do not profile you based on the markets, technologies, or project sizes you evaluate.
We do not sell or share your email address with advertisers or data brokers.
We do not use third-party advertising trackers on this platform.
A note for corporate and institutional users

We know that many of our users are evaluating sites on behalf of companies, funds, or development entities — and that the commercial sensitivity of pre-feasibility work is real. A site coordinate, a CAPEX assumption, or a target market pairing can represent months of proprietary work.

Our position is simple: your inputs go in, your outputs come out, and nothing stays on our side in a form that means anything to anyone else. We do not build profiles of your pipeline. We cannot connect your runs to your organisation unless you tell us who you are. We do not want to know.

If your organisation has a Data Processing Agreement requirement, write to us at privacy@prefeasibility.com and we will work with you.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. No advertising cookies. No third-party tracking cookies. No fingerprinting. If you block all cookies, the login flow will not work — that's the only functional dependency.

Where your data is stored

Account data (email, credit balance, run history) is stored on Supabase (database) and served through Cloudflare (edge network). Payment processing is handled by Stripe. All providers maintain SOC 2 compliance and industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit.

Your rights in general

You have the following rights, which we honour without requiring legal formality:

Right to access. You can ask us what personal data we hold about you. We'll tell you, in plain language, within 72 hours.
Right to correction. If something is wrong — your email, your name — tell us and we'll fix it.
Right to erasure. Ask us to delete your account and all associated data. We will do it within 7 days and confirm when it's done.
Right to withdraw consent. You can stop using the platform at any time. Unused credits are non-refundable per our Terms, but your data will be deleted on request.
Right to grievance redressal. If you believe we have handled your data incorrectly, write to us. We will respond within 48 hours and escalate to our Data Protection Officer if needed.

To exercise any of these rights: privacy@prefeasibility.com. No forms, no portals, no bureaucracy — just email us.

Minors

preFeasibility is a professional tool intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it immediately.

Regulatory compliance

preFeasibility is governed by the laws of India. We comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) as applicable to our processing of personal data. Your rights under the DPDPA — including the right to access, correction, erasure, and grievance redressal — are honoured as described in the Your Rights section above.

For users in the European Economic Area, we process personal data on the basis of contractual necessity (to provide the service) and legitimate interest (to maintain platform reliability). We do not process data for advertising or profiling purposes. If you have questions about cross-border data handling, write to privacy@prefeasibility.com.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change anything material in this policy — particularly around how project inputs are handled — we will email every registered user before the change takes effect, not after. The update date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We do not make silent changes.
